The Mountains worst Nightmare

The appointment of hon Rigathi Gachagua as the deputy president has come as a heavy burden that the mountain if not careful will have to bear for a long long time. Many people from the mountain are cheering Gachagua as a hero when in the real sense he has taken the region many years back both politically and economically.

Many castigate president Ruto for being behind Gachaguas tribulations while in the real sense Rigathi Gachagua has been his own greatest enemy. No one can accuse the president of not being loyal in rewarding the mountain after the elections. The most powerful positions in the Parliament were given to people from the mountain.

These includes, the majority leader, chairman finance committee, chairman, budget and appropriation committees, Treasury CS, CS Interior, Chief of defense forces among other senior positions in the Government. Some would argue that these were just put there as mere puppets but the fact is they wield enough powers to at least get something for the mountain.

The question people from the central region should be asking is, what have these leaders done with the position they were given by the president? The deputy president chose to pick a fight with his boss which might cost him his positions and subsequently lead to loss of other positions as well. As we speak, the mountain is splitting under the leadership of hon Gachagua which has seen to the rise of Mt Kenya East and Mt Kenya West.

The deputy president embarked on a quest to consolidate Mt kenya but unfortunately have ended up splitting the same people he wanted to consolidate and through his utterances, he has alienated the mountain from other communities who sees him not as the deputy president but the man from the mountain.

. Majority of the MPs from the mountain are also not in support of his leadership. Other communities are coming together to form a strong coalition against the mountain which might see the mountain out of Government for a long time. While some hails Gachagua as a hero, he will undoubtedly go down as the the worst leader the mountain has ever had.
